Women's History Cards
- March is Women's History Month
- Your project is to make a special set of cards representing figures in women's history.
- DUE March 28/29 at start of class
- You MUST make a minimum of 8 cards
- Front: The person's name and picture
- Extra information or design features is great!
- A card number (you number them)
- Back: Biographical and other information of the person must be on the back
- In the example on the right, I simply used King's Wikipedia biography. Don't do that. That's plagiarism.
- Front: The person's name and picture
- Get creative with this project, and have fun with it, but keep in mind the amount of effort you think I'd be happy with.
- The examples to the left are very simple, generic examples. Try to think outside of the box.
- Turn women's history figures into superheroes? Give them superhero names, costumes, etc? Draw caricatures? Get creative!
- The examples to the left are very simple, generic examples. Try to think outside of the box.
- You can make the cards in one of three ways...
- A. Design the cards by hand, with drawings and neat handwriting.
- B. Design the cards by hand, but with computer printed pictures and/or words.
- C. Design the cards on a computer or smartphone. In my opinion, this is the best option, as you can see by the awesome examples I made (on the right), BUT don't get lazy and think technology will simply help you do it more quickly. There are tons of photo-editing apps that could help you make this project turn out AWESOME, but I do expect awesomeness.
- You MAY receive extra credit if you go above and beyond and I am super-impressed with your efforts.
Lastly, your eight (or more) cards must be worth 20 "Dumont Dollars" (or more).
Use the lists below to determine the value of each card. It would be wise to choose your eight (or more) people before you get started. You CANNOT do five $4 cards and think you're done. You must do 8+ total, no matter what.
DO NOT repeat any cards you've already made.
Example: If you made a card for Oprah Winfrey during Black History Month, you can't make another card for her in Women's History Month.
